I wanted to share another website with you today: Spanish Language and Culture with Barbara Kuczun Nelson. This is a great site which can be used in many different ways. The site can be used for studying Hispanic cultures or for its grammatical practice exercises. The site provides ample opportunity for students to sharpen their higher order thinking skills and a chance for students to practice drill exercises as well. You can separate the two if you like, but I think it’s better to combine the two.
Kuczun Nelson has created some great study modules based on songs, videos, holidays, and literature. It provides plenty of authentic language in context and activities to practice grammar. There is a long list of grammar exercises, ranging from definite articles to the subjunctive mood. I really like this site because I can use it as a five minute activity in my class or as a major part of a unit. It’s very versatile.
Check it out and you likely find something you can use immediately in your classes.
